You may have heard the rumour - I've become a Geisha*.  Not a traditional Geisha with tea pouring and musical abilities, but a modern day Melbourne Geisha.  Geisha 2.0 if you please.

I take people out, unveiling the flavours of Melbourne in an un-planned and modern way.  We go out on "school nights". We don't have bookings, we take our chances. We hit up bars, hop around restaurants, walk up and down alleys, share plates of food, order crazy drinks and talk until we're tired. No, it's not cheap, but if you appreciate good quality food and wine then this is the kind of night for you. 

Who it suits:

People who like adventure, new flavours, dark alleys, conversation, meeting people, stories, imaginative food, the night time, wine, randomness, sharing, hair-brained ideas, laughing and cheese**.

Who it doesn't suit:

People who like reservations, safe foods, early nights, familiarity.  People who are confident already doing this kind of food adventuring on their own. *** 

Up until now my experience has been mostly one-on-one.  I've hosted international business travellers, people on flying visits and people who want to explore Melbourne food in a short period of time. Now I'd like to try something else - small groups of random people coming together for an evening of high end fun.  This is your invitation.  I'm sending it to you because I think you might like the concept or you might have friends who would (please send it to them!). I'm also wanting feedback and ideas. Maybe it suits you, maybe it doesn't. Maybe a variation on the concept does.  You may not be interested in coming along but talk to me - give me your thoughts! 

If you *are* interested then you can reserve your spot by purchasing a "deposit" at eventbrite. 

Your ticket is your deposit. A further $150 is then payable at the commencement of the evening.   It's strictly limited to four people - including me!

What your $200 covers:

• Approximately five hours of Melbourne adventure visiting between 3 and 6 venues;
• My organisation of the evening which takes in to account your whims and fancy;
• Shared dishes at each restaurant visited;
• Drinks - at least one standard alcoholic beverage at each venue;
• An introduction to two new awesome people you probably haven't met before;
• Taxi's between venues if needed; and
• Tips and gratuities.

What it doesn't cover:

• My usual touring fee (because it's a trial);
• Promises that you'll love every single part of the evening;
• Promises of no hangovers the next morning; and
• Costs beyond what is ordered at each venue. Basically, we eat and drink until the money runs out but if you want more than that then you need to cover it.

** Okay, so if you don't like cheese but all the other things listed then you'll still have a fab time. I order food based on preferences and comfort zones - the wider those are the easier my job is but I can work with any dietary requirements.  

***For the record, some of my best friends are these people - I love them - they just don't suit this kind of concept.
